Sneha Bhat |
|
| |
Sneha
has completed masters in Sociology, and a diploma course in Women’s Studies from Savitribai Phule Pune University. She works as Research Associate, and has been involved with gender and livelihoods programme.
Over the last thirteen years she has actively participated in various research projects around participatory irrigation management, water and sanitation, rural livelihoods, women farmers, and women’s land rights. She has also been involved in training and capacity building programmes for grassroots level organisations and rural women on the issues of irrigation and land rights.
She has been writing in English and Marathi as part of the gender and livelihoods programme, and her writing has been published in ‘Miloon saryajani’, ‘Sadhana’, ‘EPW’, and ‘Gender and Development’.
Currently she is involved in various activities around women farmers and land rights, as well as the research project ‘Transformations to groundwater sustainability’.

Sarita Bhagat |
|
| |
Sarita Bhagat completed her MS in Sustainability Sciences from Lund University, Sweden. Her thesis work includes the study and development of policies and market mechanisms of the organic dairy sector in Sweden, from a sustainability perspective. As part of the studies, she also conducted a three-month project, entitled ‘Crafting for Sustainability’ that focused on the attitude of local citizens towards consumption of materials. She also holds another Masters degree in Environmental Sciences from University of Pune. She has experience of conducting workshops at district and village level, conducting rapid EIA. She worked as a research assistant at Gomukh in documenting the Integrated Project Planning for the Wainganga sub-basin.
Her major interest lies in environmental governance, sustainable development and policy analysis, bio-energy, sustainable management. She currently works as a Research Associate on Right to Water and Sanitation, under the Forum for Policy Dialogue on Water Conflicts in India. |

Neha Bhadbhade |
|
| |
Neha Bhadbhade has a Ph.D degree in Biosytems and Agricultural Engineering from the Oklahoma State University, USA. Her main subjects of interest are hydrology, surface water management and Low Impact Development. At Oklahoma State University, she worked on various project associated with urban storm-water runoff. Her doctoral dissertation included the development of a mathematical flocculation model to control sediments in storm-water runoff from construction sites. She also received her Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the same university. She is currently working as a Research Associate for analyzing the e-flows in the Mahanadi-Hasdeo river basin under the Forum for Policy Dialogue on Water Conflicts in India. |

Pallavi Harshe |
|

Pallavi Harshe has done her Masters of Social Work from Karve Institute of Social Service with Urban and Rural Community Development as her specialization. She has recently done her Diploma in Gender, Culture and Development studies from Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Women’s Studies Centre. She is associated with development sector for the last 11 years. Her interest areas are research, advocacy and teaching specifically from gender and caste perspective. Presently she is working with the gender and rural livelihoods team of SOPPECOM as Research Associate and has been actively involved into coordination, research, training and advocacy on various issues of women farmers especially women’s land rights, rights of women affected by farmers suicide, gender and livelihood and rights of women sugarcane cutters. Her articles are published in Marathi journals like Miloon sarya jani, Sadhana etc. around dalits struggles on right to grazing lands, women’s livelihoods and collectives, right to land for women to name a few.

Kiran Lohakare |

Kiran has completed his Master's in Social Work from Karve Institute of Social Service, Pune. He has several years of experience in impact assessment studies of various watershed development programs. Currently, he is working on an 'Integrated, Participatory, and Equitable Water Distribution' project in Atpadi block of Sangli district in Maharashtra.
He is a member of the divisional forest rights committee Pune division and EGS committee Junnar block. |

Radhika Kanade |
|
| |
Radhika has a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore. Her doctoral research includes assessing the forest community assembly in Sikkim Himalaya using the plant functional traits approach. Her research experience also includes mapping and quantitative assessments of plant resources in the Western Ghats. She has also briefly worked with the pastoral communities in Maharashtra to understand how long-distance seasonal migrations of pastoralists may promote resilience or increase their exposure to diseases and environmental change using OneHealth approaches. Her main research interests include forest ecology and biodiversity, community governance and management of natural resources, and human dimensions of environmental change such as landcover change.
At SOPPECOM, she is working on the fairSTREAM project to develop and demonstrate a co-production methodology for including equity and justice (fairness)in developing sustainable policy options across the Water-Food-Biodiversity nexus in Upper Bhima basin.
